    November 12, 2009 DCF Meeting

    Speaker: Scott Lippitt

Program: "How to Grow Your Practice in a Down Economy"

Scott will present proven strategies for developing leads, converting leads into suspects, suspects into prospects and prospects into clients.  Scott will also be discussing the importance of increasing the longevity of each client, increasing the average fee and the importance of marketing effectively and strategically to build your brand.

Scott Lippitt is a highly experienced executive and consultant with more than 25 years of hands-on marketing, advertising, PR and management experience.  After completing his undergraduate degree at Duke University (he is a big college basketball fan), Scott went immediately onto Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business where he received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

Scott cut his teeth in marketing and management at one of the largest advertising agencies, and one of the best training organizations in the world (Ogilvy), where he worked on such high visibility national accounts, such as Hershey’s, Hallmark, Hardee’s and Duracell.  From there Scott went back and forth between senior-level (EVP), advertising agency positions (leading the strategic positioning and advertising programs for Progressive Insurance, Arby’s, Stroh’s Brewing and others) and senior corporate management positions at American Cyanamid, Black & Decker and Quiznos (CMO).  He has managed $94 million marketing budgets, ran accounts totaling more than $200 million in billings and have led groups of 30 and more.

Scott now coaches business owners, CEO’s and executives on growing their business, on learning to work on their business and not just in it, on making more money in less time, and gaining the balanced life they deserve.  For more information, please visit http://www.marsvenuscoachscottlippitt.com/

    December 10, 2009 DCF Meeting

    Speaker: Marcia McGilley

    Program:
"Don’t be a Lemon in the Limelight!"

In this interactive program, Marcia will share her secrets as a professional speaker and professional actor to help you “shine in the limelight.”  We are all asked to give presentations to our co-workers, clients, share holders or members at one time or another.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have some confidence and competence when it’s your turn?

Marcia McGilley has been an actor since childhood and a professional speaker since birth.  She claims she didn’t kiss the blarney stone until she was 21, but her family believes she was born underneath it.

Audience members will learn the inside secrets of both speakers and actors during this session.

    You will learn:

    1. How to make a great first impression at the top of your speech.
    2. What body language says about you in front of a crowd.
    3. How to look “two inches taller and ten pounds lighter” in less than 30 seconds.
    4. How to overcome nervousness.
    5. The best way to practice before a speech or presentation.
    6. Marcia’s secret four step “60 Seconds to F.A.M.E.” business story method.

This session will have you up on your feet practicing stance, gestures and even stories in front of the group.  You will laugh and sympathize, while you conquer the butterflies of public speaking.

Come ready to play and remember … Don’t be a Lemon in the Limelight!

Since 1989, Marcia McGilley has been an entrepreneur owning five companies including a marketing consulting firm, a murder mystery company, a speaking and training company.  Currently she owns Limelight Presentations, a creative firm specializing in speaking, training and coaching.

Marcia is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience launching over 1,000 companies in a variety of industries through effective strategic planning, training, marketing and financial solutions. She has a proven ability to quickly achieve results with her anticipatory leadership style, motivational training and team building skills and creative marketing expertise.  She has enjoyed a successful professional speaking and training career with Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Marcia spent ten years in the corporate world in various sales, marketing, training and customer service positions with such firms as Hyatt Hotels, VF Corporation and Showtime Networks.

Marcia is a professional actor and can be seen on local TV commercials, in corporate video’s and occasionally on stage in Denver.
